Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Included will be subjects aged 18-65 years. with current DSMIV diagnoses of: Major Depression (MDD) Dysthymia (DD) Minor Depression (MinD) General Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Panic Disorder (PAN) Phobic Disorders excluding simple phobias (PHOB)., In the 13-year assessment, the siblings from the NESDA family study (wave 6) are added to the NESDA sample. Inclusion criteria for NESDA respondent of the sibling: Has had at least a depression and / or anxiety disorder during two of the NESDA measurements. Has siblings with 100% same parents. Has participated in at least 3 of the 4 face-to-face assessments of NESDA. Has genetic information (GWA) data.Gives permission to approach siblings for research., Inclusion criteria sibling: Living in the Netherlands Age between 18-77 years Willing to participate in an interview on location. Also at 13-year assessment, offspring of NESDA participants will be invited for the sub study NESDA NEXT. Inclusion criteria for the NESDA participant: Has biological offspring. Willingness to inform their offspring about the NESDA NEXT sub study. Permission to link his/her data to the data that will be collected from the offspring. Inclusion criteria offspring: Fluent in the Dutch language Aged 26 or older Willingness to participate in an interview either on location, at home or online. Permission to link his/her data to the data collected from the NESDA parent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: primary diagnosis of an organic psychiatric disorder, psychotic disorder, OCD, bipolar disorder or addiction disorder.
