Eligibility

Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Healthy (in particular without any cardiovascular disease or history thereof) men or women - 18 years of age or above; - BMI

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Irregular heartbeat.; - Any history of cardiovascular disease or current cardiovascular disease; - The standard MRI exclusion criteria (such as pacemakers, cerebral vascular  clips, pregnancy, claustrophobia).

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The blood flow boundary conditions from the ascending aorta to internal/external iliac arteries, including branched arteries such as subclavian arteries, common carotid artery, and visceral branch vessels. The main goal is to acquire volumetric flow rate and 4D velocity fields in the aortic arch and abdominal field of view (FOV) together with their 3D geometries.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
During our previous study, hemodynamic parmeters such as Wall Shear stress (WSS) and Oscillatory Shear Index (OSI) were analysed. During this study, the potential for extracting additional parameters such as Kinetic Energy (KE), Turbulent Kinetic Energy (TKE), helicity, and vorticity will be explored as well.
