Knee Osteoarthritides Rheumatic Disease Osteoarthritis

Interventions

Participants will execute three different protocols (one protocol during each&nbsp
visit) of exercise in a randomised order: a) high intensity exercise with the&nbsp
upper body, b) low intensity exercise with the upper body and c) high intensity&nbsp
exercise with the lower body.

18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: To be eligible for this study, subjects must meet all of the following criteria: 1) aged between >=45 and 70 year, 2) knee pain based on the NICE criteria form the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence; people who a) are 45 or over and b) have activity-related joint pain and c) have no or brief (

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Subjects who meets any of the following criteria will be excluded from  participation in this study: 1) rheumatoid arthritis, 2) known cardiovascular  disease 3) known neurological or psychiatric disorder, 4) recent surgery  (within the last 3 months) of the affected joint, 5) having had joint  replacement surgery (at the side of the current pain problem) and 6) presence  of other pain complains with a higher pain intensity than the knee pain.

1) Exercise Induced Hypoalgesia, 2) Numeric Pain Intensity Scale, 3) duration of the complaints and 4) Central Sensitisation Inventory.
