Acute or elective hip surgery with the implantation of fixative or prosthetic material.

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Patients must undergo an elective or emergency hip surgery with the implantation of fixative or prosthetic material.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients that are younger than 18 years old

| Patients that have a clinically high suspicion of a postoperative infection or proven postoperative infection within 60 days after surgery. The preoperative swabs of these patients will be cultured in order to sequence the microorganisms and compare them with the pathogen that is swabbed from the infection site, at the time of infection. | — |
