Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria:  Aged = 18 yearsCapable of understanding and signing informed consentPatients with cardiac disease who are clinically stable OR Healthy volunteers  

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria:  Subjects who live abroad or who are not Dutch speakingSubjects with inability to obtain adequate echocardiographic examinationPregnant and/or lactating women   Healthy subjects with: (prior) cardiovascular disease; cardiovascular risk factors consisting of hypertension, diabetes mellitus or hypercholesterolemia; systemic disease or medication known to influence cardiac function; or the findings of cardiac abnormalities during examination; professional athletes; morbidly obesity (BMI >40 kg/m2), pregnant women and women with breast implants.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary study endpoint is the comparison of measurement values between patients with various cardiac pathologies and healthy controls, aimed at evaluating the value of these recent imaging techniques in the field of cardiac imaging. The slope of the systolic strain-volume relation (S-slope) and uncoupling of the systolic and diastolic strain-volume relation (UNCOUP) will be derived from SV-loops. For RV shape and function, mean RV curvature and area strain will be calculated. Using SWI, myocardial shear wave velocities will be measured during diastole, and after aortic and mitral valve closure. Feasibility of the imaging techniques will be assessed by the rate of acquisition of adequate imaging and the ability to derive subsequent parameters.
