This study does not involve the testing of a new drug or intervention. Instead, it focuses on the observational assessment of real-world opioid prescribing practices and subsequent opioid use patterns

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 18 years and olderDischarged home from the ED with a new opioid prescriptionOpioids include all medications in ATC-class N02A
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: <18 yearsCurrently using opioidPatients unable to give consent for follow-upNo understanding of Dutch or English languagePatients admitted to the hospital from the EDPatients not having an email address
