Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Receiving care from one of the ID care providers, Abrona, Amarant and Ipse de Bruggen - 18 years and older - Diagnosed with mild (IQ=50-69) or moderate (IQ= 35-49) intellectual disability - Having the metabolic syndrome or diagnosed with at least 2 cardiovascular risk factor i.e. diabetes mellitus type 2, hypertension, hypercholestelomia, or obesity - Being ambulatory - Able to follow instructions

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Not obtaining medical clearance by physician - Have physical limitations interfering with participation in the PRET exercises, including neurological and orthopedic conditions.

MeasureTime frame
The effects of the PRET program on diabetes mellitus type 2 based on hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints are: other CVRF such as, systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG) low density lipoprotein (LDL), high density lipoprotein (HDL), fasting glucose (FG), waist circumference, waist to hip ratio but also sarcopenia, performance of ADL and IADL, physical fitness, falls, behavioural problems and physical activities.
