Age

65 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - age 70 years and older - suspect for subtrochanteric, pertrochanteric of femoral neck fracture - undergone diagnostic blood sampling as part of the standard-of-care during acute trauma care

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - polytrauma (ISS >16) - transferred from other hospitals >24 hours after trauma - transferred to another hospital after presentation - immunocompromised status - active infectious disease

Design outcomes

Primary

Measure	Time frame
The main assessed parameters will be the results from the AQUIOS CL® load & go flow cytometer, regarding protein expression on the neutrophil surface. These parameters are related to clinical outcome in terms of infectious complications and mortality.	—

Measure	Time frame
To assess the impact of surgical intervention on the neutrophil functional phenotype and to distinguish the response to different operative strategies.	—
