18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - Participant in Rotterdam Study who has undergone at least one previous assessment in the study centre (including brain MRI and cognitive testing) and who will visit the study centre from June 2019 onwards for re-examination - >60 years of age - Written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Inclusion criteria are not met - Unwillingness or inability to give written informed consent - Clinical diagnosis of dementia or previous stroke. - Contraindications for 7T MRI (pacemaker, aneurysm clip, cochlear implant etc.) - Major neurological conditions affecting brain structure (e.g. multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, parkinson*s disease)

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Measures of microvascular function as assessed on noninvasive 7T MRI: - Mean velocity and pulsatility index of perforator flow, both in the basal ganglia and in the semioval center; - Cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR) to a hypercapnic stimulus.
