Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome is to measure the effect of standard capsular repair versus unrepaired capsulotomy after hip arthroscopy on early postoperative pain. Our hypothesis is that a faster recovery (lower NRS pain) is reached in the repair group. This is measured with NRS pain scores weekly between -1 to 12 weeks by patient diary.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The secondary objective is to measure the effect of capsular repair on patient reported functional outcome scores measured with the HAGOS and iHOT-33 questionnaires. These scores will be obtained during clinical visits at 6 weeks, 12 weeks and 52 weeks. To evaluate level of sports the Tegner activity level scale will be obtained preoperatively and at 52 weeks follow-up.
