Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| The main study parameter is the percent change in muscle thickness of the mid-upper arm, forearm and thigh measured by ultrasonography, from baseline to ICU admission. | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| Secundary study parameters are: * Muscle quality of the rectus femoris and vastus intermedius muscles separately (echogenicity) measured by ultrasonography. * Muscle force measured by MRC sum score and handgrip force * Functional status (DEMMI) * Nutritional state and hydration status with the bivameter. * Quality of life (EQ-5D) | — |
