High intensity polychromatic white light (2000 lx, 1000 lx, 500 lx, 250 lx, 125 lx) One participant will be exposed to one intensity polychromatic white light throughtout the experiment

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Men and Women Between 20 to 30 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Use of photosensitizing medication Use of sleep medication Drinking moderate to high level of caffeine during the day (5 or more cups) Smoking Diabetic disease Diagnosed with colour-blindness Performing shift work scheduled in 3 months prior to participation Travelling over 2 or more time zones 1 month prior to participation A score of >18 on Epworth Sleepiness Scale

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The main study parameter is subjective alertness measured by the KSS questionnaire.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary parameters are objective alertness, measured by physiological parameters: PUI and skin temperature. In addition, indirect parameters, measured through the auditory Sustained Attention to Response Task , are used.
