Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: distal radius fractures with dorsal angulation >18 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: High energetic trauma complicated fracture multiple fractures

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome of this study is the number of X-rays made to guide the treatment on the emergency care. This will correspond directly to the times reduction is attempted.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary study parameters are an analysis of costs, need to perform surgery and the function of the wrist in everyday life 16 weeks after the fracture. The costs will be analysed 16 weeks after the fracture and consist of costs for outpatient clinic visits, costs of material used (casts etc), diagnostic costs (X-ray, CT-scan). The need for surgery will be a simple 'yes' or 'no' outcome. The function of the wrist in everyday life will be assessed using the Dutch translation of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) questionnaire. The questionnaire contains 30 questions and 8 optional questions. A score between 0 and 100 will result from these questions.
