18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: -healthy -non smoking -18-65 year old -informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Age 65 year - History of -or current cardiovascular disease - Any known haematological disorder - Any known metabolic disorder (i.e. diabetes, metabolic syndrome) - Use of antihypertensive drugs and/or thrombolytic drugs - Smoking - Absence of written informed consent

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The main study parameter is the change in microcirculatory profile, defined by several parameters (Total Vessel Density, Perfused Vessel Density, postcapillairy venous saturation, bloodflow and velocity, and oxygen consumption and reactivity of the microvasculature)

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- To determine the effects of dietary nitrate on the macrocirculatory parameters; heart rate (HR) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) and diastolic and systolic pressure. - To assess the relationship between the changes in the macro- and microcirculatory parameters after dietary nitrate supplementation. - To assess the relationship between the microcirculatory profile and NO metabolism
