Inclusion criteria: Admission to a burn centre with external burns Sufficient Dutch proficiency
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Inhalation injury only (without external burns) Cognitive dysfunction (e.g. psychosis) Self-inflicted burns

| We aim to increase insight in social functioning following burns. We expect to describe the extent of the problem in three areas of functioning and to identify risk factors that impair functioning in the three social areas. | — |

| We hypothesize a significant role of the partner in social functioning. We will ask the partner to fill in questionnaires at the respective measurements. We hypothesize that overprotecting partners or partners that react indifferently may influence social outcome unfavourably. | — |
