18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: - minimal age of 20 years - mild (IQ = 50-69) to moderate (IQ = 35-49) intellectual disability - able to have a conversation and understand instructions - able to walk at least 40 meters independently - informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Diagnosis of Down syndrome, Parkinson's disease, cerebrovascular accident, dementia, or cerebral palsy - severe visual impairment (

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary study parameters are the spatial (distance-related) and temporal (time-related) gait parameters, measured with the GAITRite during walking at comfortable speed with and without a dual task, and at maximal speed.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The secundary study parameters are the number of falls that the participant experienced during the three months after the measuremetns, physical fitness levels, anxiety regarding falls, and a number of personal characteristics.
