Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients (male/female), aged >18 years, admitted to the acute coronary unit of the CWZ hospital for evaluation of chest pain. Inclusion criteria: - No coronary atherosclerosis (TPS6): then participation in the patient.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: A potential subject who meets any of the following criteria will be excluded from participation in this study: - Acute coronary syndrome (ST-segment elevation or depression and elevated plasma troponin levels) - Use of statins or thrombocyte aggregation inhibitors (since these drugs have been shown to modulate epigenetic changes in in vitro studies). Of course, these drugs can be given after blood sampling if clinically indicated. - Signs or symptoms of a current infection (fever, chills) - Auto-immune diseases (such as rheumatoid arthritis)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Blood will be drawn immediately upon inclusion for isolation of monocytes. The primary endpoint is H3K4 trimethylation in the promoter region of inflammatory cytokines.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Secondary endpoints is the cytokine release in response to stimulation with TLR agonists and foam cell formation
