Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: • Patients diagnosed with AIS; • Skeletally mature as can be derived from menarche, growth velocity, pubertal or skeletal status. • Aged >=10 and
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: • Spinal pathology other than idiopathic scoliosis • Immature bones • Previous spinal surgery • Patients with primary acute or chronic pulmonary disease (e.g. asthma or cystic fibrosis) • Patients who are likely to have muscle weakness, based on presence of neuromuscular disease or mental impairment. • All contra-indications for MR Imaging • Any type of physical incapacity or other pathologies that contraindicate cardio-pulmonary exercise test or pulmonary function test
