Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for cases: Parkinson Disease or Parkinsonism, diagnosed between 2006 and 2011 in one of the participating hospitals. Screening for inclusion will be based on DBC codes;Inclusion criteria for controls: Non-parkinsonian controls who presented between 2006 and 2011 in a neurology outpatient clinic of one of the participating hospitals, with neurological symptoms leading to a diagnosis coded in one of the following DBC codes: median nerve neuropathy (including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), ulnaropathy, radicular syndrome / lumbar-thoracic disk herniation, lumbosacral pseudoradicular syndrome. Controls will be selected on matching to cases based on hospital, age, and sex.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: All Parkinson or other Parkinsonism patients who are referred from another hospital or come for a second opinion will be excluded from participation. Also any potential participants under the age of 18 are excluded from participation.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The main parameters in this study are life-time exposure to pesticides, ELF-EMF, and certain specific gene mutations or polymorphisms. These parameters will be compared between cases and controls.
