Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria for patients diagnosed with ADHD off medication: - Adults diagnosed with ADHD according to DSM-IV-TR - Age of 18 years or older - Able to provide written informed consent;Inclusion criteria for patients diagnosed with ADHD on medication: - Adults diagnosed with ADHD according to DSM-IV-TR - Age of 18 years or older - Medicated with MPH as described by the psychiatry of the UMCG on an optimal dose. - Able to provide written informed consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria for patients diagnosed with ADHD on and off medication: - Currently substance dependency - Severe psychiatric disorder or disease (e.g. psychosis, autisme, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder) - Treatment with other psychotropic medicine - Any cerebral neurological diseases

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Performance on social cognition tasks of patients with ADHD is compared to the performance of healthy participants. The performance on social cognition tasks of ADHD patients on methylphenidate medication is compared to ADHD patients without treatment of methylphenidate.
