Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age > 18 years Hemodialysis for more than 1 year Stable dialysis routine Hemodynamic stability Cardiac stability 3 times a week on dialysis

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Complex comorbidity Life expectancy less than 6 months Significant cognitive impairments Current depressive disorder or any other current psychiatric disorder according to DSM-IV criteria Patient atypical for the dialysis centre

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Depressive symptoms as measured by the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), fatigue symptoms as measured by the Abbreviated Fatigue Questionnaire (AFQ), tryptophan levels.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Immune activity as measured by hCRP and IL-6. Sleep quality and person-specific illness parameter (self-report).
