Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Signed informed consent Males Ages from 18 to 23 Being an online gamer Diagnosed with online gaming addiction based on the Video game Addiction Test (addicted gamers) / scoring negatively on Video Game addiction test (healthy controls). Right handedness

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: fMRI contra indications Indications of psychopathology (other than game addiction) Use of psychoactive medication Claustrophobia

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The main study parameters are brain activity in reaction to the cognitive control reaction time tasks (Stroop task, Go/NoGo), accompanied by behavioural responses to the tasks (reaction times in both tasks and number of errors in the Go/No Go task).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
The Video game addiction test (VAT) measures the degree of game addiction. This will be correlated with the degree of activation and behavioural performance on the reaction time tasks separately for each group. Also a measure of impulsivity and attentional control will be correlated with the main behavioral and functional data from the fMRI tasks.
