Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy adults: - 20 healthy adults without shoulder problems - age 18-60y - a population of 75% female and 25% male, to match the expected patient population;Patients: - 20 patients with a poterntial of mild to severe scapular dyskinesis, assessed by a clinical expert (orthopedic surgeon or physiotherapist), independent of shoulder pathology - age 18-60y

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Extreme pain 2. Poor understanding of Dutch language 3. One or more of the following pathologies concerning the shoulder: tumour, infection, fracture, symptoms of periferal neurological failure 4. Patients with central neurological disorders 5. Limited range of motion (

MeasureTime frame
The main outcome measures of this study are the reliability and validity of the IMMS for measurement of scapular movement in patients with scapular dyskinesis. This will be evaluated for both anteflexion and aduction. The 3D angle of the scapula with respect to the thorax will be measured at 0, 30, 60, 90 and 120 degrees humerus elevation, for both the upward and downward movement. Primary outcome measures for the reliability study are the ICC (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient, between 0 and 1), the SEM (Standard Error of Measurement, in degrees), and the SDD (Smallest Detectable Difference, in degrees). For the validity study the IMMS scores in degrees, the SDT score (normal, mild scapular dyskinesis, severe scapular dyskinesis) and the SL scores in degrees will be used. Primary outcome measures for the validity study are the difference in IMMS scores of the affected shoulder of the patients with respect to the dominant shoulder of the healthy subjects, and with respect to the non-affected shoulder of the patients. Further primary outcome measures are the association between IMMS scores and SDT scores and the difference between IMMS scores and SL scores.
