Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Caucasian Age between 18 - 55 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Visible dermatitis on the forearms Systemic inflammatory disease or skin diseases other than AD Sunbathing or using a tanning bed during 2 months prior to the investigation Use of antihistaminics or inflammation suppressing medicines (e.g. corticosteroids, NSAIDs) or antibiotics three months prior to, or during the investigation.

1. Changes in transepidermal water loss (TEWL), pH and erythema 2. Levels of filaggrin degradation products and cytokines in the stratum corneum harvested by using adhesive tape 3. Skin morphology as assessed by using confocal laser scanning microscopy (Vivascope, MAVIG, Germany)
