| To measure cardiac strain and strain rate during liver transplantation by speckle tracking The outcome of speckle tracking is a dimensionless number called strain and describes the amount of deformation in these myocardial markers when a stress is induced. With TEE four-chamber images will be acquired with a GE Vivid 7 ultrasound machine (GE Medical Systems, Horten, Norway) in B-Mode and digitally stored on a hard disc. To obtain an adequate resolution for off-line analysis frame rate will be set to a minimal of 45 frames*minute-1. The off-line software of EchoPAC Dimension *06 (GE Medical Systems, Horten, Norway) will be installed on a workstation for the application of Speckle Tracking. | — |

| To evaluate the effect of major fluid changes (anhepatic phase, reperfusion, massive blood loss) on cardiovascular parameters determined by invasive and less invasive techniques. To evaluate the effect of major fluid changes (anhepatic phase, reperfusion, massive blood loss) on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of midazolam and alfentanil. To evaluate hepatic functional capacity with ICG plasma disappearance rate and near-infrared fluorescence measurements | — |
