Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Primary care patients 75 years and older without previous cardiovascular disease or diabetes who consult their general practitioner about their cardiovascular risk.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria consists of patients with previous cardiovascular disease or diabetes, terminally ill patients and a diagnosis of dementia or cognitive impairment.

The main study endpoints are the number of patients that consult their general practitioner about their cardiovascular risk when a consultation like this is offered and the number of patients a. using cardiovascular preventive medication and high HCY; b. using cardiovascular preventive medication and low HCY; c. not using cardiovascular preventive medication and high HCY; d. not using cardiovascular preventive medication and low HCY).

MeasureTime frame
Other study parameters would be the baseline values of the preventive consult, like age, gender, compliance with cardiovascular preventive medication, cholesterol and blood pressure and the anonymous demographical characteristics of the patients that attend the cardiovascular prevention consult ant those that did not.
