Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with active HIV-1 infection who have an indication for starting treatment with cART 18 years or older of age

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with HIV-1 infection al ready on cART HIV-2 infection Pregnancy Oral contraception Not able to understand Dutch lor English anguage

Measure	Time frame
Measurement of the levels of the following thrombophilic factors including: anti-thrombin, protein C, protein S, free protein S, fibrinogen, lupus anticoagulant, von Willebrand factor, factor VIII and D-dimer, at four moments in time after starting with cART and comparing those levels with baseline to determine changes.	—
