Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. > 6 months after supratentorial, unilateral stroke 2. Functional Ambulation Category, score 4 or 5 (independent walkers on even terrain) 3. Age 18-70 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Other Neurological, or serious orthopedic disorders which influence balance 2. Severe cognitive or visual disorders 3. Use of psychotropic drugs (benzodiazepines, anxiolytics, neuroleptics) 4. Any therapy which may influence the outcomes of the measurements or training (e.g. recent intramuscular botulintoxin injections in the leg)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome measure in the target stepping task is the distance from the foot to target. The primary outcome measure during the obstacle avoidance task is the percentage of succesfully avoided obstacles.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Fear of falling is assessed as a secondary outcome by means of the Activities specific Balance Confidence Scale (ABC).
