Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Adults with an ASA score of 1 with a rehabilited dentition.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: An ASA score of 2 or higher, severe periodontal disease (Dutch periodontal screening indez, DPSI > 2) and an unrehabiliated dentition. Participants wearing a removable appliance in the upper jaw can not participate.

MeasureTime frame
The loss of enamel due to erosion will be determined using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS, calcium concentration) and molybdate UV-spectrophometry. With these techniques the loss of enamel can be calculated. Baseline measurements of the eroding solution will be performed. After exposing the samples to the eroding solution the calcium concentration of the solution is measured again. The differences in calcium concentration are an indication of the loss of enamel [Dijkman et al., 1983; Vieira et al., 2005].

The pellicle adhered to the porcelain attached to the removable appliance will be analysed using SDS-page. The differences in protein composition between a pellicle exposed to toothpaste and normal pellicle will be determined
