Interventions

The self help manager is a computer program that provides the patient of feedback. The patient will fill in a questionnaire and the responses of each question will yield a specific advice.

Eligibility

Age

18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: COPD patients, who are treated by a general practitioner, according to the DBC system for COPD.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: COPD patients, who are treated by the medical specialist; who recieve care by public health nurses; patients who have an unsufficient command of the Dutch language.

Design outcomes

Primary

Measure	Time frame
The main outcome measures are (1) the observed levels of self management and use of information technology; (2) the percieved benefits for care, self-management, and organization; (3) the estimated costs and benefits of a full implementation.	—
