Age
18 Years to 99 Years

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Inclusion criteria are: adults with burns (18 years and older), with a minimal Total Burned Surface Area of 1%, admitted at one of the three Dutch burn centres with a minimal duration of 48 hours and able to give self-reports of their pain intensity.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unsufficient understanding of Dutch language is the main exclusion criterium. Patients with a hospitalization period less than 48 hours, with severe mental problems (chronic and acute psychoses), with inhalation injury only and patients who died as a result of the burn injury are excluded.
