Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients with Parkinson*s disease diagnosis according to the UK Brain Bank criteria Besides having PD, patients are in good physical condition Patients must be able to concentrate for short periods of time

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients who cannot fully cooperate during the experiments Parkinson patients who are not classified as either tremor dominant or PIGD-dominant Parkinson patient with implanted deep brain stimulator Patients suffering from dementia Patients suffering from severe tremors or dyskinesias, that interfere with the EEG recording People using sedative medication

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The main study parameters will be EEG amplitude (depends on event-related (de)synchronization (ERD/ERS)) and frequency around the mirror neuron areas (C3/C4 of standard EEG electrode lay-out). The parameters are observed for three conditions: the different hand movement videos, the execution of different hand movements by the subject, and baseline (no images and no movements) period.

MeasureTime frame
Unintentional movement of the hand during movie observation and eye blinking can intervene with the EEG results. Therefore, eye blinking and unintentional hand movements need to be detected. Unintentional hand movements, which can be tremor in Parkinson*s patients, can be detected by 3D inertial sensors. Eye blinking can be registered by monitoring the most frontal EEG electrodes.
