Interventions

1) extra biopsies during colonoscopy (planned on medical grounds) 2) meal test: blood sampling 5x, every 30 min.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: healthy obese and lean subjects having a colonoscopy

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Gastro-intestinal diseases or surgery which may affect transit time and absorption.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
In obese subjects, tissue PYY and GLP-1 will be increased, whereas postprandial plasma PYY and GLP-1 secretion will be decreased, pointing to an L-cellular hyposecretion in obesity.
