Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients> 18 years undergoing elective CABG with Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in the Antonius hospital in Nieuwegein

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Emergency patients, patients with inborn coagulation disorders and patients on immunosuppressive therapy.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary objective of this study is to define differences in the inflammatory response, coagulation, and fibrinolysis in CABG patients with MECC or conventional CPB. To compare inflammation and coagulation activation between MECC and conventional CPB patients several inflammatory and coagulation parameters in the blood are measured. Thromboelastography (TEG) is used to compare the hemostatic process between the groups.

MeasureTime frame
Differences in blood product transfusion numbers, hospital and ICU length of stay, bloodloss and mechanical ventilation duration, and myocardial damage (CK> 180 U/l with CK-MB > 10% of total and troponine-T> 0,1).
