Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To study the mortality rate due to pulmonary embolism or its treatment during a period of 10-days in patients with a normal pro-BNP concentration who are treated at home.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To study the rate of re-admission to hospital due to pulmonary embolism or his treatment (like a, b or c) during a period of ten days in the outpatient group. a. hemodynamic instability b. major bleeding c. recurrence of VTE o study the correlation between pro-BNP and: a. VQ-score b. Clinical score according to Wells To study the well being of patients treated at home, measured by the HADS anxiety score and the Patient satisfaction questionnaire PSQ-18. To study the course of pro-BNP in patients treated in hospital. We will also follow the group of patients treated in hospital to measure daily the pro-BNP levels and to correlate this with the clinical course. Probably is will be possible in future to send off home a patient, based on a clinical score and a normalized pro-BNP.
