Interventions

CLA will be incorporated into margarines which will also be used for preparation of bread, cookies and gravy. The subjects have to include the provided products in their diet for 3 weeks.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Apparently healthy volunteers aged 18 to 60 years

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusiecriteria are abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride concentrations Alanine aminotransferase (ALAT) Aspartarte aminotransferase Amylase Alkaline phosphatase Bilirubin Gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase Lactate dehydrogenase Creatinine

Primary

Measure	Time frame
We are interested in the number of subjects showing liver enzyme levels or creatinine clearence above the upper limits of normal. Subjects will be excluded from the study the day after blood sampling if one of the following limits occurs. Therefore, blood will be analyzed the same day of sampling. If three subjects or more show one of the following limits the study will be terminated: - aminotransferase (ALAT) or aminotransferase (ASAT) levels above 3 times the upper limit of normal (normal for ALAT: 90 ml/min) Dr. J.D.Banga, internist from the hospital in Ede, agrees with these cut off values and considers them as safe.	—
