CPA Talking-with-children-intervention:
Children are interviewed by a CPA employee as part of the CPA investigation following the suspected child maltreatment report. The aim of this interview is to
2. Existence of any family problems
3. Child's need for help or protection
4. Willingness to accept help or protection.
The duration of the interview will depent on the needs of the child.
In the control group only adults are part of the CPA investigation.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Minimum age: 6; 2. Maximum age: 17; 3. Expected time of residence in the Netherlands is at least one year, and there are no plans to leave the country; 4. Meeting the 'classical' definition of child maltreatment (including physical or emotional abuse, sexual abuse, physical or emotional neglect); 5. One child per family. In case a report includes more than one child, the child with the highest concern will be asked to participate; 6. Sufficient verbal and cognitive capacities to participate in a study which requires an oral interview.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Participants not meeting the aforementioned criteria.
