Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients following the "Joint Care®"program for a total hip or knee replacement. Inclusion criteria for the "Joint Care®" program are: 1. primary hip or knee replacement; 2. ASA score 1; 3. below the age of 75; 4. no arthritis; 5. no other joints disorders (that may hinder rehabilitation); 6. no CVA; 7. no visual disorders; 8. no (serious) respiratory disease (astma/COPD); 9. no cardial diseases; 10. basic proficiency in Dutch.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Post operative ICU admission.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. To map the post operative pain treatment policy in patients following the "Joint Care®"program; 2. To map the effectiveness of this treatment; 3. To map the side effects of this treatment.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. To map the patient satisfaction about the post operative pain treatment; 2. To map the "quality of life" before and after the surgery; 3. To map the differences in post operative morfine usage between hip an knee replacement patients.
