Interventions

The intervention is a cognitive behavioral planning treatment focused on planning academic life of students with ADHD. The intervention is 6 sessions and at 4 months follow-up there is a booster sessi
2. Restructering dysfunctional cognitions using cognitive behavioral techniques
3. Enhancing motivation for treatment and change
4. How and when to use the help of significant others. The control condition is a waitlist control condition.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Diagnosis of ADHD; 2. Student at college/university (17-25 years old); 3. If applicable: Stable medication for at least four weeks.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Severe depression (clinical score BDI); 2. Personality disorder, which is likely to interfere with treatment.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
1. Self report of ADHD symptoms (ADHD rating scale); 2. Learning and Study Strategies Inventory (LASSI).

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. General psychopathology: Adult Self Report (ASR); 2. Depression: Beck Depression Inventory; 3. Planning skills: Neurocognitive task of the Delis-Kaplan Executive Functioning Scale (towertest D-KEFS).
