Patients who are included in this study have a high anxiety score. These are all patients planned for a colonoscopy under sedation.

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All patients meet the inclusion criteria if they are being scheduled for a nonemergent, colonoscopy and/or EGD; having an American Society of Anesthesiologists classification of I or II; being at least 18 years old; being able to speak, understand, and read Dutch; have a score of >11on the APAIS questionary and having the will and ability to give informed consent before study entry.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients who are unable to complete the study questionnaires due to a mental or cognitive disorder, treated with anxiolytics or who are scored ASA III or ASA IV. Patients who have intra-oral inflammatory disease.
