Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Mothers who report smoking at baseline, having a child aged between 9-11 years-old. 2. The child has never tried smoking, and experiences asthmatic symptoms. 3. Mother and child need to be able to speak and read Dutch.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Non-smoking mothers 2. Children outside the range of 9-11 years-old 3. Absence of asthmatic symptoms 4. Not being able to speak and read Dutch

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Initiation of cigarette smoking. The response options for these questions include indicators of having never puffed on a cigarette. The intervention will start in February 2009. The mothers will receive every month an activity guide. Parents and Children are structured-interviewed by telephone.

Secondary
