Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Histologically proof of colorectal cancer. 2. Patients with primary or recurrent CRLM who are considered candidates for curative surgery, thermal ablation, or a combination of curative surgery and per-operative thermal ablation determined by the multidisciplinary team (MDT) based on CT chest/abdomen. 3. No contraindications for liver surgery or thermal ablation. 4. Written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Extrahepatic metastases on CT chest/abdomen that make curative treatment impossible. 2. Unresectable primary tumor, or resectable primary tumor requiring immediate surgery. 3. Patients with contra-indications for liver-MRI. 4. Previous inclusion in this study.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Additional CS-CRLM on liver-MRI

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Develop a liver-MRI clinical prediction rule for specific subgroups 2. Evaluate total costs of performing liver-MRI
