Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Children aged 0-16 years presented at a participating hospital with fever without an apparant source are eligible. Fever is defined as a temperature of >38.0°C at home or during presentation.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Children will be excluded in case of early onset neonatal sepsis (within 72 hours after birth), or the hospitalised neonate.
