Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
self-reported running-related injuries, defined as an injury of the muscles, joints, tendons and/or bones in the lower back or lower extremities (hip, groin, thigh, knee, leg, ankle, foot and toes) that is caused by running (training or competition). The injury is severe enough to cause a reduction in running distance, speed, duration or frequency for at least 7 days or 3 consecutive scheduled training sessions. Or the injury requires that the runners consults a physician or other health professional.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- The difference in injury proportion in runners with previous injuries, between the intervention and control group - Difference in severity score of running injuries (range 0-100), calculated on the basis of the four questions of the OSTRC Overuse injury Questionnaire for every runner that reported an injury, between runners in the intervention and control group. - The difference of RRI locations between the intervention and control group
