This is an observational study. The implementation of a standardized pain assessment (PAIC) for people with dementia will be evaluated. Participants will be observed by a caregiver e.g. during getting

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: A. Patients: a. (Probable) dementia b. Living in psychogeriatric ward c. Has resided in nursing home/at ward at least 1 month B. Nursing homes of the UNO-UMCG network: a. Willing to facilitate the implementation and evaluation of the PAIC C. Caregivers: a. Professional nursing training (helpende level 3 or higher) b. Fluent in Dutch

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients: a. Diagnosis of delirium b. Major environmental changes in the last month
