Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: We want to collect data on all patients admitted to nursing wards of participating hospitals on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Data of patients admitted to a day admission ward (day treatment, obstetrics)

MeasureTime frame
The percentage of patients with a possible palliative care need, defined as a negative answer to the surprise question, who were admitted to regular nursing units of participating hospitals on January 22, 2021.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- the percentage of patients with a palliative care need per specialism - the type of disease in these patients (malignant, non-malignant or COVID-19) - the age of these patients (<70 vs. = 70 years) - the gender of the patients (male or female) - treatment restrictions registered in these patients (whether or not registered treatment restrictions) - involvement of the palliative team (yes, no or desired) - the percentage of patients with a life expectancy <3 months In addition, it is noted whether it concerns data from an academic or general hospital.
