Interventions

Two standard treatments to augment the maxilla are compared.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Edentulous patients; 2. Cannot wear an upper denture satisfactorily; 3. Have an atrophied maxilla with insufficient bone volume to support dental implants; 4. Written informed consent.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Unable to be operated on due to severe health problems; 2. The use of intravenous bisphosphonates.
