Periodontitis nitrosamines parodontitis

Interventions

No intervention will be performed. Just a one time sampling of urine, saliva, a dental bacterial sample and an X-ray picture of the teeth will be made.

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Both male and female participants will be included between 30 and 50 years of age either suffering from periodontitis or being healthy with regards to dental status.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: - Smokers will be excluded from participation. - In addition, certain medical conditions can predispose subjects to the development of periodontitis. These conditions include: 1. Diabetes mellitus 2. Osteoporosis 3. Inflammatory bowel disease 4. Down's syndrome 5. AIDS People suffering from these conditions will be excluded as well.

Difference in concentration of nitrosamines in saliva and urine samples between periodontitis patients and healthy controls.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Difference in concentration of nitrate and nitrite in saliva and urine samples between periodontitis patients and healthy controls. Analysis of differences in microflora composition of bacterial samples from dental pocket between periodontitis patients and healthy controls.
