Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All consecutive patients who are referred to the memory clinics of the University Medical Center Groningen because of cognitive decline and who are seen by a geriatrician or specialized geriatric nurse for a diagnostic work up (e.g. CGA)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Unable or unwilling to cooperate with a dental assessment due to their general condition and incapacitated patients..

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
- Oral health outcome: Screening of the follow oral health problems: caries, periodontitis, subjective masticatory function, occlusion (functional units), oral status (dentate/edentulous) and subjective oral dryness.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
- Composition of oral microbiome.
