The protocolized intervention is based on the official Dutch translation of the Hold me Tight program which was developed by Dr. S. Johnson in Canada. The program in this study will be provided by EFT

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Adult (18 - 70 years of age) heterosexual couples suffering from relational distress and mastering the Dutch language are included.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria are a primary individual DSM-IV axis I or II diagnosis indicating different treatment.
